Commission signals it will no longer abandon rights-of-way

The Taylor County Commission has signaled that it is no longer interested in approving requests to abandon portions of county-owned rights-of-way as it has often done in the past.

During a pair of public hearings held at the commission’s March 22 meeting, the board voted unanimously to deny two petitions to close a 480-foot undeveloped section of First Street Northwest in Steinhatchee and 480 feet of a nearby alley.
