Billy James Bodiford

Billy J. Bodiford, 85, passed away on April 17, 2022, Easter Sunday, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Billy was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Perry, Fla., to Bill Bodiford and Mary Grantham Bodiford. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Blue Creek Baptist Church. After graduating from Salem High School, he joined the United States Navy and served four years in the military. Thereafter, he resided in the New England states for several years. He later moved back to Keaton Beach and began a commercial fishing business, following in his father’s footsteps. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Bodiford, and his brother Larry Bodiford. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kathy Bodiford, and his sisters, Martha Parker, Mary Alice Swindle, and Diane Morris, and one brother Johnny Bodiford. A graveside service will be held at Pineview Memorial Cemetery on April 20, 2022, at 11 a.m., with Pastor David Beagle officiating the service. Services will be under the care of Burns Funeral Home.
