    Pilot survives plane crash

    The pilot of this P-51 Mustang replica survived a Sunday afternoon crash after his plane reportedly lost fuel pressure during a flight from Lakeland to Texas. According to local law enforcement officials, the pilot was planning to stop in Tallahassee when his plane began experiencing problems. During his attempt to glide into a safe landing at Perry-Foley Airport, the plane descended faster than anticipated and struck a tree near Houck Road before crashing near the intersection with Golf Course Road.

    The pilot of a P-51 Mustang replica survived a crash landing near the Perry-Foley Airport Sunday afternoon, after his kit-built plane lost fuel pressure during a planned flight from Lakeland to Texas.

    The T-51D Mustang – which had reportedly planned to stop in Tallahassee — clipped the top of a tree on one side of Houck Road and impacted a power line before crashing into a section of planted pines near the intersection of Golf Course Road.
