Optimist Club Fishing Tournament is May 7

The 30th annual Perry Optimist Club Saltwater Fishing Tournament, featuring more than $13,000 in cash and prizes, will be held this Saturday, May 7.

A captains’ meeting will be held Friday, May 6, at Walter B’s from 6 to 8 p.m.

The three weigh-in sites will be located at the Keaton Beach Boat Ramp in Keaton Beach, Sea Hag Marina in Steinhatchee and Econfina River Resort on the Econfina River.

Weigh-in will be from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The entry fee is $50.

Prizes include $2,500 for the largest trout and $1,000 for the largest legal redfish.

The Optimist Club is also offering a drawing for a 16-foot Alweld CC with a 25 h.p. Yahama 4-stroke motor and a Magic Tilt galvanized trailer. Tickets are $5.
