For a second straight meeting, former city manager Bill Brynes raised questions and accusations concerning the City of Perry’s recent vote to offer a multi-million dollar incentive package to secure construction of a proposed $42 million high-end apartment village with 344 new residential units.
At an April 12 meeting, the Perry City Council voted 4-0 in favor of offering ad valorem tax and natural gas utility incentives – potentially worth more than $2 million over a 10-year period – to developers behind a gated residential development upon completion of the final unit.
