A Taylor County Jail inmate who cut through a section of fence to escape likely had a five-hour head start before he was discovered missing during a routine 5 p.m. count on Saturday, April 30.
As of press time Tuesday, the inmate, identified as Joseph J. “J.J.” Padgett, 36, remained at large and law enforcement officers are seeking the public’s assistance as they search for his whereabouts.
