Martha Parker

Martha Parker, 87, of Huntsville, Ala., passed away on April 27, 2022, at the Crestwood Medical Center.

Martha was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Athena to Willie Bodiford and Mary Grantham Bodiford, and was the eldest of their five children.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ellis R. Parker; her parents; and her brothers, Billy Bodiford and Larry Bodiford.

Martha’s central focus throughout her life was her family. She was a longtime member of the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading and bargain shopping.

She is survived by: her children, Debora Little, Mark Parker and Brian Parker; her grandson, Randy Brandon; her great-grandchildren, Riley and Marshall Brandon; her brother, Johnny Bodiford; and sister, Mary Alice Swindle.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 5, at 10 a.m. at Pineview Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Danny Lundy officiating. The family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 2-5 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
