A divided Taylor County Commission is moving forward with selling two lots in Keaton Beach that a majority of the board has deemed to have no public use and would provide more benefit if they were instead on the tax rolls.
The commission has debated the future of the two lots, located along Marina Road just south of the canal bridge, at nearly every meeting held so far this year. The discussion has at times sparked heated disagreements between commissioners and impassioned pleas from adjacent property owners who oppose the county selling the parcels.
