Elaine Russell, 84, passed away on May 3, 2022, in Perry.

She was born Aug, 27, 1937, in Perry to Ira Augustus Williams and Nellie Henderson Williams.

Elaine was a Baptist and a member of New Home Baptist Church.

She worked with the Taylor County School District as a bus driver for more than 25 years.

Elaine loved spending time in the outdoors, fishing and gardening, as well as spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren and her great-granddaughter, Kinley.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ira Augustus Williams and Nellie Henderson Williams; her husband for 56 years, Bryant Russell; her brother, Kenneth Williams; and her three sisters, Ida Sowell, Ava Poppell and Loree Bland.

Elaine is survived by: her daughters, Carla Russell and Diane and her husband, Lynn Wright; her son, Ronnie Russell; her grandchildren, Heather, Russell, Sarah, Wyatt, Stetson and Amber; her great-granddaughter, Kinley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today (Friday) at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with the Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. Interment services will follow in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.
