Special ceremony May 13 to honor the lives lost, sacrifices made

The community is invited to come together for an evening of reflection, music and more during a COVID-19 Day of Remembrance ceremony at Rosehead Park this Friday, May 13, starting at 6 p.m.

Free chicken dinners will also be served.

“Powerful things can happen when people come together. In addition to remembering the lives lost to COVID, we will also honor the sacrifices made by healthcare workers, first responders and essential workers,” said City Councilwoman Shirlie Hampton, who is helping coordinate the event.

“We will also celebrate the entire community working together and persevering,” she said.
