    Alice F. Silveira

    Alice F. Silveira, 79, passed away on May 10, 2022.

    She was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Boston, Ga., to Don Dallas Floyd and Marie Moore Floyd.

    Alice worked for the Alabama State Trooper’s office for many years and following that she worked for GEICO for many years.

    She and her husband were the owners and operators of Cornell’s Automotive in Jacksonville for 27 years.

    They retired to Cedar Island in 2003 to pursue their love of scalloping, fishing, and anything to do with being on the water. “Heads down, bottoms up!”

    Alice was preceded in death by: her parents, Don and Marie Floyd; her son, Tommy Eugene Jones Jr.; and her sister, Faye Glenn.

    She is survived by: her husband of 46 years, Cornell Silveira; sister, Emily Ryan and her husband, Eddie; her brother-in-law, Tommy Glenn; two daughters, Deana Carr and her husband, Richard, and Jennifer Ford and her husband, Luke; daughter-in-law, Tammy Jones; six grandchildren, Shawna Roher and her husband, Adam, Dallas James Nelson, Dr. Shelby Elizabeth Jones, Trey Jones, Heather McCoy, Haley Ford, April Duggan and her husband, Travis, and Brandy Griffin and her husband, Keith; and eight great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

    Memorial services will be held on Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with the Rev. David Beigle officiating.

    Randy Nettles

    Randy Nettles, 63, passed away on May 11, 2022, at his home in Perry.

    Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery with Brother Eddie Pridgeon officiating.

    All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
