    City may reduce required parking

    At the request of two potential business developments, the city council has agreed to review its existing land development regulations (LDRs) to possibly reduce the number of parking spaces required in shopping centers.

    City Manager Taylor Brown brought up the subject at the city’s April 26 meeting, stating that the city’s current LDRs for commercial shopping centers require one parking space for every 150 square feet of retail space (not counting warehouse, storage, restrooms, hallways, etc.).
