City hears apartment complex complaints

Local activist Wayne Dunwoody appeared before the city council at its May 10 meeting seeking help on behalf of tenants of the local Perrytown Apartments (formerly Tidewater Apartments) located on Warner Avenue.

Stating he was appearing as a concerned citizen, Dunwoody presented a number of complaints from residents, who he says have shared reports of substandard living conditions ranging from mold, mildew and non-functioning air conditioning units to plumbing problems and a rodent infestation.
