Fisherman finds body

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is investigating the discovery of a deceased individual by a fisherman in the Steinhatchee River early Tuesday morning.

Crime scene tape was visible near where the 13th Street right-of-way ends at the Steinhatchee River between Fiddler’s and the Steinhatchee Rivergate Subdivision, as the body of a male was removed using a private dock and transported to the medical examiner’s office by Burns Funeral Home. The TCSO declined to release details, pending identification of the deceased individual and notification of next of kin.
