TCI inmate charged with smuggling cellphones and drugs into institution

An inmate at Taylor Correctional Institution (TCI) is facing new local charges after cellphones and drugs were found on his person during a post-visitation search conducted by officers.

Patrion Latrell Lavender, 22, was booked at the Taylor County Jail Tuesday on charges of smuggling contraband into prison and possession of controlled substances.
