FWC, county partner to remove derelict vessels

    Posted on June 3, 2022

Thanks to Derelict Vessel Removal Grant Funds, the Taylor County Board of County
Commissioners contracted with Sea Tow to remove two derelict vessels that represent
navigational hazards from local waterways. The first, this 28-foot cabin cruiser sailboat (above),
was removed from the upper Steinhatchee River and disposed of at an authorized landfill.

Two derelict vessels have been removed from Taylor County’s coastal waters thanks to grants from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

A 28-foot cabin cruiser sailboat, which was partially submerged upstream from the Steinhatchee Landing, was removed from the water in early May.
