    Former Mayo quarterback and Gator All-American Kerwin Bell (left) has called on Taylor County native and fellow UF grad Todd Shealy (right) to help lead the Western Carolina Catamounts’ football program.

    Chasing a championshipWith nearly 100 student-athletes back on campus following Memorial Day break, Taylor County native Todd Shealy is busy and focused on handling all of the behind-the-scene details necessary to allow the Western Carolina University (WCU) Catamounts’ football program to compete for a championship.

    Shealy, a 1982 graduate of Taylor County High School, is entering his second season as Director of Football Operations at Western Carolina, located in Cullowhee, N.C., where he handles the day-to-day operations and provides administrative support for his longtime friend and Head Coach Kerwin Bell.
