    Meth ring run from fed prison

    Nearly a dozen arrests made in Taylor County dating back to 2019 were key to building a wide-ranging federal case that led to a 25-year prison sentence for a Georgia man convicted of running a drug trafficking operation out of his federal prison cell in Atlanta, Ga.

    Brian Stanton, 38, of Athens, Ga., was sentenced to an additional 300 months in federal prison on May 26, following his trial and conviction on charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine , according to a press release issued last week by the U.S. Department of Justice.
