    Nancy Rosalyn ‘Rosie’ Green

    Nancy Rosalyn “Rosie” Green, 89, passed away on June 6, 2022, in Mayo. Nancy was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Perry to Luther Lesley Sadler and Emma Helen Hunt Sadler. Rosie was of the Christian faith and was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She was a waitress at many locations throughout Taylor County for around 30 years. Rosie also worked with the Taylor County School System and retired as a schoolteacher. She enjoyed gardening, photography, cooking, baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Rosie was preceded in death by: her parents, Luther Lesley Sadler and Emma Helen Hunt Sadler; her husband, Roger L. Green Sr.; her two sisters, Mary Jane Dixon and Nellie Bender; her son, Larry Mann; and her grandson, Timothy C. Mann. She is survived by: her five sons, Phillip Mann, Carl Mann, Jimmy Mann, Leon Green and Roger L. Green Jr.; two daughters, Debbie Sweers and Sandra Green; one brother, Laymond “Sonny” Sadler; three sisters, Emma Bell Brown, Etsie Brock and Geneva Riser; 11 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home with Brother Marc Pargo officiating. Interment services followed in Carlton Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
