The 2022 scallop season begins today (Wednesday, June 15) — as the region of lush grass flats off the coast of Taylor County between the Fenholloway River and Suwannee River is now open to recreational harvest — with a reduced bag limit for the first two weeks of the season.
Taylor County is one of the few places in Florida where you can participate in Mother Nature’s biggest Easter egg hunt — harvesting bay scallops!
