Habitat hosts craft fair June 25

Taylor County Habitat for Humanity will host a craft fair this Saturday, June 25.

“This first-ever event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue through 3 p.m.,” Executive Director Karol Barr said.

The fundraiser will be held at the Habitat office, which is located next door to the Book Mart.

“There are many local artists and crafters in the community, and we are excited to showcase their talents,” she said.

Habitat for Humanity is a faith-based organization which strives to provide affordable sustainable housing for families who don’t qualify for traditional mortgages.

The group also provides assistance with home repair for those who have limited funds and no family to assist them.

Profits from fundraisers like this one help the local organization, which gets limited financial assistance from the national chapter, Barr explained.
