Local man is charged with child sex abuse

Sexual battery charges have been brought against a 65-year-old Perry man who was caught abusing a child.

During an interview with investigators, Robert Wayne Sumrall admitted to having sexually abused the child for more than six years (the child was under age seven when the abuse began).
