Donald ‘Don’ V. Wiggins

Donald “Don” V. Wiggins, 86, passed away on June 26, 2022, in Madison.

Don was born May 9, 1936, in Miami to Ralph E. Wiggins and Pearl Young Wiggins.

He was of the Christian faith and honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He was a graduate of the University of Florida and an avid Gator fan.

Don owned and operated Yarbrough Tire for many years.

He served two terms on the Taylor County School Board.

He was instrumental in starting the Perry Soccer Association and an inaugural member of the Perry Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors.

He volunteered many years as a mentor in the local school system. Community was very important to him.

Don was preceded in death by: his parents, Ralph and Pearl Wiggins; three brothers, Ralph E. Wiggins Jr., Robert S. Wiggins and Richard Clayton Wiggins; and one sister, Lillian Bates.

He is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Martha Wiggins; one son, Mark and his wife, Lori; and one grandson, Denton Wiggins; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 5-7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church.
