Beshears hired

The Taylor County School Board voted to appoint incoming Superintendent of Schools Alicia Beshears as interim superintendent at a special meeting held Tuesday, following the resignation of current interim Superintendent Paul Dyal.

In the absence of an appointment by the governor – as required by state law – the school board has twice been forced to fill the position on an interim basis in the eight months since former Superintendent Dr. Danny Glover Jr. resigned in October 2021. Beshears, who was elected unopposed to the seat, will serve as superintendent on an interim basis until her official term begins on Nov. 22.
