The Taylor County Commission will hold a public hearing next week to determine whether or not to move forward with demolishing the former Shady Grove voting house, which has become dilapidated and potentially a hazard.
In addition to securing public support for the demolition, the commission is holding a public hearing because county officials say they cannot definitively find proof that the voting house actually sits on public land.
