David Patrick Tyler, 63, passed away on July 10, 2022, at his home in Perry. David was born Feb. 4, 1959, to Stanley W. Tyler Jr. and Shirley Inez Courtney Tyler. He was recently saved into the Christian faith. He had attended Calvary Baptist Church until his illness progressed and debilitated his physical condition. He graduated from Taylor County High School in 1978. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with his dad’s logging company for numerous years and also Stone Container Corporation. One of David’s favorite hobbies was to metal detect and locate Taylor County artifacts. David was preceded in death by: his mother, Shirley Inez Courtney Tyler, and brothers, Stephen P. Tyler Sr. and James B. Tyler. David is survived by: his father, Stanley W. Tyler Jr. and wife, Virginia McCallTyler; and sister, Catherine Jenkins and husband, Robbie Jenkins; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, at 3 p.m., at Burns Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2-3 p.m., at the funeral home.
