    Property values up $31M in city

    Heading into budget planning discussions for the upcoming 2022-23 fiscal year, city council members were informed they could have an additional $200,000 in local tax revenues to help offset rising costs – even if they voted to keep the property tax (millage) rate at the current level.

    During a June 28 visit to the city council to discuss the upcoming 2022-23 fiscal year tax roll, Taylor County Property Appraiser Shawna Beach reported the taxable value of real property (single family homes, mobile homes and commercial property) in the city limits increased by 11.5% over the past year.
