100 mph chase leads to recovered stolen vehicle

A suspected illegal drug transaction at a convenience store and a traffic violation triggered a high-speed chase in which speeds reached more than 100 miles per hour on Friday, July 15, culminating in one arrest and the recovery of stolen vehicle.

Perry Police Department (PPD) Det. Jamin Cephus reported he observed a black and white Chevrolet truck at the gas pumps at Choo Choo’s convenience store on Hwy. 19 and witnessed what appeared to be a possible “hand-to-hand” transaction with someone at the gas station.
