Russell Dwayne “Hogbody” Davis, 50, went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2022, following a boating accident. He was born on April 1, 1972, in Kinston, N.C., to William Davis and Dinah McGuire. He was preceded in death by: his parents; uncles, Gary Davis, and Joe Davis; and sister-in-law, Dottie Davis. Russell is survived by: his best friend and wife of 27 years, Connie; stepchildren, Jessica Faircloth and Matthew Faircloth; two grandchildren, Troy Lindsey and Aleeaha Freeman; brothers, Spooney (Kristy) Davis and JohnJohn Davis; and sisters, Donna (David) Johnson and Dawn (Rick) Davis. He worked 16 years at RDS as a welder, fabricator and special projects man overseeing work on fire trucks for the state. He always had a “cando” attitude at whatever task he took on – always with a great smile. He was also a member of the Sandhill Hunting Club. He will be greatly missed by everyone. A celebration of Russell’s life will be held Saturday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m., at Antioch Revival Center with Brother Cricket Watson officiating.
