Teen clocked at 118 mph during morning car chase

Deputies with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) were involved in a high-speed car chase during the early-morning hours Tuesday in which the suspect reached speeds topping 118 miles per hour.

The chase crossed into Dixie County, where law enforcement officers there assisted in apprehending the 19-year-old suspect, Jeremiah Smith of Pinellas County.
