    Benefit ride and concert slated Aug. 27 at Forest Capital Park

    A benefit ride and concert event for shark attack survivor Addison Bethea will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at Forest Capital Park.

    Registration for the benefit ride will begin at8 a.m., and music will begin at 10:30 a.m.

    There will be more than 75 vendors, food concessions, raffles and more.

    Featured music performers include Taylor Woods, Jared Walker, Blind Luck, Deuces Wild and more.

    All donations from the benefit will be donated to the foundation that has been set up for Bethea.

    The benefit ride will consist of a 102-mile motorcycle ride through Taylor and Lafayette counties.

    Bethea, a senior at Taylor County High School, was attacked by a shark on June 30 off the coast of Keaton Beach while scalloping

    She underwent a partial amputation of her leg as a result of the attack, but is now recovering at home.

    She and her family plan to be on hand for the Aug. 27 event.
