Register for Sept. 14 community meeting

Local residents and supporters are invited to join United Way of the Big Bend for its annual community meeting planned Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee.

Attendees will hear from Board of Directors Chair Erik Davis about the importance of community engagement.

“I feel that you must be hands-on in your efforts to add value and improve the place you call home. United Way plays a vital role in our community. The current direction is one that allows the organization to be nimble and to assure that the organization is always actively working to aid the community in the areas of most need at that time,” Davis said.

The program will also spotlight United Way’s impact on those living in poverty and at the edge of poverty and celebrate volunteers and contributions from across the Big Bend.

Tickets are $35 each, and registration is available online at United Way of the Big Bend’s website.
