Jimmie Carl Blair, 77, passed away on Sept. 12, 2022, in Gainesville.
He was born April 14, 1945, in Cottondale, Fla., to L. D. Blair and Eunice Jackson Blair.
Jimmie was an integral part of coaching high school football in Taylor County for many years, and was called by many as the greatest dog hunter in the Sandhills, hunting with his beloved dog “John Boy.”
He was a hard worker who never hesitated to help anyone in need, never met a stranger and lived his life to the fullest.
He was also a loving “Peepaw” to his grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by: his parents, L. D. and Eunice Blair; his daughter, Karen Blair; and his many brothers and sisters.
He is survived by: three children, Jimmy Dean Blair, Kristi Dubey and her husband, Ryan, and Melissa Blair; eight grandchildren, Carl Blair, Amy Rodgers, Evan, Parker and Garon Dubey, Maegan and Riley Anderson and Carson Putnam; and three great-grandchildren, Karlie and Jesse Rodgers, and Benny Osteen; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on today (Friday) at 11 a.m. at Pineview Memorial Gardens with Brother Cricket Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
