    Theodis Miller

    Theodis Miller, 85 passed on Sept. 2, 2022 at his home.

    He was born on Oct. 12, 1936, in Madison County to the late Solomon and Essie Mae Miller.

    Theodis graduated from Jerkins High School. After graduation, he chose to apprentice with a local entrepreneur, Mr. Ulysses Asberry, where he mastered concrete finishing. He utilized the concrete finishing skills with his brother’s (James Miller) business.

    He retired from Procter and Gamble (Buckeye) after approximately 30 years of employment.

    Theodis was a devoted member of New Brooklyn M. B. Church, where he was affiliated with the following ministries: Men, Trustees, Youth and was a dependable van driver for the church.

    He was a member of the male chorus of Stewart Memorial A.M.E. Church and a member of the Taylor County Union Men’s Ministry.

    He was a dedicated volunteer for the Meals on Wheels Program for years, delivering meals to the citizens of Perry.

    He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Tymesia W. Miller; two daughters, Barbara M. Demps and Sonja J. Green; six sons, Theodis Miller Sr. (Edith), Aubrey D. Smith, Derrick Miller, Tyrone Miller (Vanda), Deonte Miller and Van Miller; one brother, James Miller (Viola); and one sister, Annie Anderson; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many special friends.

    Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 5-6 p.m. At Trinity Funeral Home.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. At New Brooklyn M.B. Church. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery.

    For the safety of everyone, a face mask is required for the visitation and the funeral.

    Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
