Shirley Jean Austin

Shirley Jean Austin was born March 26, 1950, to Charlie Frank Mitchell and Bernice Thomas.

She graduated from Jerkins High School.

She was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Perry.

She was employed at Walmart for many years and respected by her co-workers.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Natasha Space of Atlanta, Ga., and J.P. Austin Jr. of Perry; nine grandchildren, Hermeisha Waddell, Derion Powell, Terrarra Simmons, Herbert Waddell, Paris Austin, Perrie Austin, Princess Austin, Kelly S. Morgan and McKenzie M. Morgan; a host of great-grandchildren; and four sisters in-law, Sonja Sweet, Mary Hugger, Precious Holmes and Lisa Willis (Earnest); along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public visitation will be held today (Friday) from 5-7 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. at Springhill Cemetery.

Trinity Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
