    Deputies, aid sent south for Hurricane Ian

    One runway at the local Perry-Foley Airport is being used as a staging area for a long line of semi-tractor trailers used for sleeping quarters during emergencies. According to County Airport Manager Ward Ketring, a private contractor (Lodging Solutions) has staged dozens of trailers filled with bunk beds at the local airport to be dispatched out to governmental agencies and power companies responding to Hurricane Ian.

    As the death toll and damage totals continue to rise amid the devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Ian, three Taylor County law enforcement officers, along with six others from nearby counties, are among those helping their South Florida brethren in their hour of need.
