The Florida Forest Festival’s Great Race, presented by the Big Bend Track Club, will kick off festival day on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 8 a.m.
The race will begin at the Parkside Café & Coffee located at 105 East Ellis St. in the Historic Perry Depot.
The five-kilometer route will take runners on a winding course through historic downtown Perry, past the Taylor County School District and finish up on Jefferson Street amongst cheering spectators lined up for the Forest Festival King Tree Parade.
Awards will be presented at 9 a.m. to overall male/female, masters male/female, and first, second and third male/female in five-year age groups beginning with 9 and under.
Advanced registration is $20 for the race or $25 with a commemorative shirt. Registration on the day of the race is $25, with shirts only available while supplies last.
