A trio of special events heralding the holiday season are right around the corner, and organizers invite you to “save the dates.”
The annual Sugar Plum Princess Pageant will be held over a span of three days — Wednesday, Nov. 2, Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4.
Contestants ages 4 to 16 will vie for the Sugar Plum crowns.
The ceremonies will be held at Forest Capital Hall, starting at 6 p.m. nightly.
Winners will be special guests at the annual “Santa’s Little Helpers Christmas Parade” & Downtown Christmas Open House & Craft Market planned Friday, Dec. 2.
The Perry-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the lighted Christmas parade, and the Taylor County Historical Society is spearheading the downtown open house celebration.
Events will include craft vendors, caroling, the annual Gingerbread House Workshop, Santa, a tree-lighting ceremony and much more.
The Historical Society is currently accepting vendor applications for the craft market.
Vendor forms are available online at the historical society’s Facebook page or by request.
Space is limited, and lots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

The second annual “Walk-Thru Bethlehem” will also be held in conjunction with the downtown parade and open house.
The two-day holiday event will be staged at Rosehead Park featuring exhibits coordinated by local churches and volunteers on Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3.
