Joseph William “Billy” Howard, 68, passed away on Oct. 19, 2022, in Perry. Billy was born Aug. 30, 1954, in Plant City to James Clarence Howard and Vera Wilkinson Howard. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, Airborne Division, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist. Billy dedicated his life to being a law enforcement officer. In his spare time, he liked to go fishing and he love to spend time with his granddaughters and family. He was preceded in death by: his parents, James and Vera Howard; his brother, James L. Howard; and his son, Andrew J. Howard. Mr. Howard is survived by: his sisters, Christine (James) Walker, Betty Howard Roberts, Teresa Thomas, Judy Cruce and Jan Scott; his brother, Jack A. Howard; a stepson, Jason (Melissa) Haskin; and his granddaughters, Jade and Riley Howard and their mother, Jamie Faranda; step-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews also survive him. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Brother Danny Lundy officiating. Interment services will follow on Monday, Oct. 31, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Saturday, from 1011 a.m., at the church.
