    Ella Faye Bowden

    Ella Faye Bowden, 85, passed away on Oct. 31, 2022, in Mayo.

    She was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Panama City to Woodrow Smith and Eloise Griner Smith.

    Faye was a Baptist and a member of New Home Baptist Church.

    She loved gardening and spending time in the outdoors fishing and camping. But, most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

    Ella worked with the Taylor County School District as a custodian until her retirement.

    She was active with the VFW and was charitable with her time to help people.

    Faye was preceded in death by: her parents, Woodrow Smith and Eloise Griner Smith, and her three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Sharon Ann Padgett and Billie Jo Padgett.

    Faye is survived by: her son, Doug Bowden; her sister, Mary Polk; and nine grandchildren; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Brothe Dennis Nobles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m.
