Kenneth C. Lawson

Kenneth C. Lawson Jr., 83, passed away of Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Haven Hospice in Lake City.

He was born March 30, 1939, in Patterson, N.Y., to Kenneth and Olive (Hendry) Lawson Sr.

Mr. Lawson was raised in Perry and graduated for Taylor County High School.

He attended Stetson College in Florida on a basketball scholarship.

He retired after 20 years from Procter & Gamble/Buckeye, then had a second retirement after another 20 years from Rayonier in Jesup, Ga.

He enjoyed softball, golfing, raising beagles and cheering on his beloved Florida Gators.

He was an active member and trustee at Stewart Memorial AME Church.

Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth Lawson Ward.

He is survived by: his wife of 29 years, Cynthia Glenn; four daughters, Anne “Lisa” Wells, Angie Lawson, Sonja (Leetavis) Glenn and Marcia (Marcus) Phillips, all of Perry; one sister, Dale Ann (Ed) Woodruff of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Kennis, Kennidy and Marcus; and three great-grandchildren, Kase, Skylar and Kole.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Stewart Memorial AME Church.

Trinity Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
