Polly Ann Carmichael

Polly Ann Carmichael, 73, passed away on Nov. 1, 2022, in Tallahassee. She was born Dec. 5, 1948, in Perry to Alton “Red” Whiddon and Josephine Sheffield Whiddon. Polly was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and she worked with the State of Florida as a senior accountant for more than 30 years. She loved to scuba dive, and spend time in the outdoors gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Polly was preceded in death by: her parents, Alton “Red” Whiddon and Josephine Sheffield Whiddon; her two brothers, Eason and Jim Whiddon; her sister, Ethelle McHargue; her niece, Cindy Wilson McCormick; and a nephew, Tom Files. She is survived by: her daughter, Jessica and her husband, Greg Hatcher; her two granddaughters, Tiffany and Victoria Hatcher; her sisters, Betty Shiver and Elaine and her husband, Merritt Pruitt; and a brother, Joseph and his wife, Robbin Whiddon, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Friends may sign the online guest book at www. joepburnsfuneralhomes. com.
