Mary Helen Stephens, 87, passed away on Nov. 9, 2022 in Perry. She was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Perry to O. W. and Ruby Padgett. Helen was a member of San Pedro Baptist Church. She was a heavy equipment operator, certified firefighter and licensed cosmetologist. Her hobbies included sewing, dancing and, most importantly, hunting and fishing. She worked at P&G until a major injury forced her retirement. Helen was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Fred Stephens; a daughter-in-law, Denna Stephens; and two brothers, Ernest Padgett and Clint Padgett. She is survived by: a daughter Annette (Donald) Wright; son, Ferlin Stephens; grandchildren, Akista Anderson and Lacey Land; great-grandchildren, Kalsee (Aaron) Anderson, Keistin Anderson, Taylor Rector, Hunter Land (Beck); and great-greatgrandchildren, Kabrie Palmer, Waylon Palmer and Macklyn Shade. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at San Pedro Baptist Church with Brother John Padgett officiating. Interment services followed in San Pedro Baptist Church cemetery.
