Jeannie Mae Wells Sessions, 69, passed away Nov. 23, 2022, in Moultrie, Ga., after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Jeannie was born in Tallahassee to the late John Marion Wells Sr. and Ernestine Bell Wells on June 1, 1953. She was a graduate of Taylor County High School, Class of 1971. During school she worked as a page for the Florida State Legislature. After college she began her career as a legal secretary in Tallahassee, working for the State of Florida and several law offices. Upon moving back to Perry, Jeannie married Walter B. Sessions and gave birth to daughter, Suzanna Sessions, in 1978. For those that knew her, she never met a stranger. She was one of the most loving and caring people you would ever meet and she always had a smile on her face. Jeannie is survived by: her daughter, Suzanna Bell Sessions; grandchildren, William and Jack Roberts; stepson, Walter Benjamin Sessions; brothers, John M. Wells II, Joseph B. Wells and Jerry Wells; and sister, Julie Wells; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family received visitors at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home from 1:302 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, followed by services at 2 p.m. and interment at Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family hosted a celebration of Jeannie’s life at Walter B’s following the graveside service.
