John W. Dorman

John W. Dorman, 80, passed away on Dec. 12, 2022, in Perry.

He was born June 3, 1942, in Perry to Henry Frank Dorman and Annie Lois Baxter Dorman.

John was a pastor for many years. He pastored New Home Baptist of Madison for five years, Blue Creek Baptist for 21 years and filled in as pastor in several other churches for many years.

He also went on many missions trips, traveling to Jamaica and Honduras.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lois Dorman, and one sister, Elaine Morgan.

He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Andrea Dorman; four sons, Anthony Dorman and his wife, Darlen, John Dorman and his wife , Sandy, Lincoln Dorman and his wife, Judy, and James Dorman and his wife, Teresa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Jean Harden and her husband, David; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 10:30-11 a.m.
