Geraldine K. Perryman

Geraldine K. Perryman, 94, passed away peacefully on Dec. 30, 2022, in Perry. Geraldine was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Shady Grove to Elby Knowles and Hattie Wilson Knowles. Mrs. Perryman was a Baptist and longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was an operation technician in the powerhouse department of Buckeye Cellulose, retiring after more than 20-plus years. When able, she liked to spend time outdoors, from fishing to tending her garden and flowers. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the best “Nanny” a grandchild could want. She will be greatly missed by all those that loved her. Geraldine was preceded in death by: her husband of 55 years, Ed Perryman; her parents, Elby and Hattie Knowles; her son, Tommy Perryman; her grandson, Chip Sherrod; her sisters, Oween Cruce and Cora Lee Andrews; and her brothers, Rudolph, Wilburn, Luther and Hulen Knowles. She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Weber, Susie Summerlin and Carol Riley; her son, Matt Perryman; brother, Horace Knowles; seven grandchildren, Tim, Lindsey, Shannon, Lucas, Jeremy, Kristi and Emerald; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Brother Danny Lundy officiating. Interment services followed in the church cemetery.
