Jean Glass Boatwright

Jean Glass Boatwright, 80, passed away on Dec. 31, 2022, in Perry. She was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Tampa to Horace Oliver Glass Sr. and Effie Jane Clark Glass. Jean loved Jesus and was a Baptist. She enjoyed spending time and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a well-stocked pantry, as well as gardening. She was an avid Tom Brady fan and loved football. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 59 years, Fred Boatwright; her parents, Horace Oliver Sr. and Effie Jane Glass; her brothers, Horace Oliver Jr. and Robert Fredrick; and her sisters, Gladys Marion Glass, Rosa Lee Glass, Mary Nell Stephens and Eloise Valeria Glass-Noel. Mrs. Boatwright is survived by: her children, Donnie (Keri) Boatwright, Connie (Billy) Ernst, Bobby (Karen) Boatwright and David (Lisa) Boatwright; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Harmon Nelson (Pat) Glass; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at Blue Creek Baptist Church with Brother David Beigle officiating.
