Short story contest now open!

The Friends of the Taylor County Public Library are now accepting entries for its 17th annual Short Story Contest.

Categories include: youth (fifth graders and below); students (sixth-12th graders); and adult.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category: first place, $100; second place, $50; and honorable mention, $10.

The entry fee is $5 per story, and the deadline for submissions is Thursday, April 6, at 5:30 p.m. Winners will be announced Friday, May 26.
