Richard Earl Sargent

Richard Earl Sargent, 78, of Greenville, passed away on Jan. 26, 2023, in Perry.

Rick was born Jan. 22, 1945, in Apple Grove, Ohio, to Clarence Jack Sargent and Clara Mae Robinson Sargent.

He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. After his service Rick worked with Gulf Electric in Tampa, retiring after 26 years.

Rick had a passion and enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing with his wife for benefits and charities.

In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, especially gator hunting.

His greatest love was spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by those loved and knew him.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Clara Mae Sargent.

Mr. Sargent is survived by: his wife of 20 years, Wanda Sargent; his sons, Derek Sargent and Barry (Jessica) Clinard; his daughter, Heather (Bobby) Lansdon; his sister, Ann Cale; and eight grandchildren, Sonja Mae, Joseph, Chase, Vinnie, Summer, Kaylynn, Barrett and Tony; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his memory.
