    Sherry Lee Anne Chaney

    Posted on February 8, 2023

Sherry Lee Anne Chaney passed at home peacefully with her dog and husband at her side, on Dec. 3, 2022m in Hospice care after an extended stay at the Gainesville VA hospital.

She was best known for over-the-top Halloweens, giving gifts, not candy, many kindnesses when her health was better.

Sherry is survived by: her husband of 37 years, David Evoy of Perry; her son, Jesse Chaney and his wife, Cori; and grandson, Zander, all of Valdosta, Ga.

She was born in Porterville, Calif., to Wayne Chaney & Joy (David) Chaney.

Following her enlistment in the United States Air Force, Sherry never returned to California, but has many Chaney and David relatives there.

A partial internment of ashes, with military honors, will be held on Sherry’s birthday, Feb. 11, at noon, at the grave of Spicy Lynn Fletcher (a young lady she babysat for many years) in Salem Cemetery (located 15.1 miles south of Perry; balloons and a signed will be placed at the entrance). David Evoy will deliver the eulogy.

The remainder of Sherry’s ashes will be spread into the wind and land in a later private service in the mountains which she loved and missed so much.

Any donations are requested to be done as charity or a kindness in these all-too-harsh times for many.
